Penn State To Schedule BYU?
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- If you believe the rumors, Penn State will start a 3-year series with BYU starting next season.
However, I'd go with the saying that you can't believe everything you read.
Recent Twitter reports suggested that BYU is negotiating a series with Penn State that would see the Nittany Lions play at BYU in 2012 and have a home game in Beaver Stadium and a neutral site game in another year.
There's multiple problem with this report and here's what they are:
1) Penn State currently has a full 2012 non-conference schedule. The Nittany Lions are scheduled to play Ohio, Virginia, Navy and Temple.
In order for this BYU game to take place, one of these opponents would have to be dropped.
2) Further complicating things is the full Penn State 2013 schedule, which includes non-conference games against Syracuse, Eastern Michigan, Virginia and Kent State.
The 2014 schedule currently has an opening for September 20 in addition to home games against Temple and Akron and a road game at Rutgers.
Things can always change and teams could be dropped but Penn State A.D. Tim Curley will have alot of schedule juggling to make this rumor happen.
