STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (KDKA/AP) — Penn State is getting some help from the Philadelphia Phillies as they prepare for the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 in Tampa Bay.
The Nittany Lions will be practicing at the spring training home of the Phillies in Clearwater.
Coach Joe Paterno accepted the invitation from Phillies president David Montgomery over the weekend to conduct a week of practice there prior to the game.
The Lions will begin practice this Sunday and it will run through Christmas Eve. After that, the team will move to a hotel in Tampa and practice at Raymond James Stadium.
