Penn State Lands Local Recruit
PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- After getting off to a slow start last year in recruiting, Joe Paterno and Penn State have just received their 4th verbal commitment for the Class of 2012.
South Allegheny tight end/defensive end Jesse James has given Penn State a verbal commitment. James was recruited by defensive coordinator Tom Bradley.
Because of his size (6-7) and athletic ability, James has the ability to play either tight end, defensive end or offensive tackle in college.
James was a second team all-state selection in 2010, catching 34 passes for 463 yards.
James joins OL Anthony Stanko, DE Brent Wilkerson and LB Camren Williams as early Nittany Lion verbal commitments.
Sean Fitz, of Lions247.com (Penn State recruiting website) expects the 2012 class to number anywhere from 20 to 24.
