Penn State AD Tim Curley: Pitt-PSU Won't Become Yearly Rivalry
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Penn State University Athletic Director Tim Curley joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about the renewed rivalry between PITT and PSU. He spoke of how the deal came about between himself and Steve Pederson saying it worked out for both organizations in 2016 and 2017.
When asked why it would only be a two-game series, Curley said he does not see this becoming an annual game after 2017 because of the 500,000 alumni contingencies around the country interested in seeing their former team play.
Curley also spoke about the current state of college football in light of the controversies in Ohio State and USC by saying despite those incidents, he feels there is still a positive outlook on the sport referring to increasing TV ratings as well as audience interest.
