Penn State Alumni To Cast Votes For Board Of Trustees
STATE COLLEGE (KDKA) – Thousands of Penn State grads upset over the handling of the Jerry Sandusky scandal will soon get their say.
Starting Tuesday, alumni can cast their ballots for three open Board of Trustee seats.
A record 86 candidates are vying for the available spots.
Recently, the Board has been criticized for firing Coach Joe Paterno and for its handling of abuse allegations against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.
Sandusky is currently facing child sexual abuse charges and is under house arrest while awaiting trial.
Jury selection is set to begin in early June and prosecutors are requesting that a jury be brought in from outside of Centre County in order to find fair and impartial jurors.
Voting begins Tuesday morning and runs through May.
The results will be announced on May 4.
A total of 550,000 people are expected to cast a ballot.
