Family Facing Drug Charges After Police Raid Penn Hills Home
PENN HILLS (KDKA) – A couple and their two sons are facing drug charges after police raided a home Wednesday afternoon in Penn Hills.
It all started around 2:30 p.m. when the SWAT team was called to a home on Glendale Road, near the intersection of Johnston Road.
The drug investigation is reportedly a joint operation between the Penn Hills Police Department and the Attorney General's Office.
An incident earlier in the day, spanning between Penn Hills and Monroeville, prompted the raid. Law enforcement officials were looking for a fourth suspect, who they have not yet located.
However, three other suspects – a mother, father and son – are all in custody.
Police were looking for a second son when they raided the Glendale Road home. Police used tear gas and flashbangs before going inside, but found no one in the residence.
Several neighbors initially thought the flashbangs were gunshots and called 911.
Police executed a search warrant at the home and were later seen carrying out some evidence.
