Penguins Recall Thiessen From Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – After calling up a forward from their AHL affiliate on Monday, the Penguins called up a goaltender Tuesday morning.
According to the Penguins' official website, goaltender Brad Thiessen has been called up.
Brent Johnson is not feeling well, which prompted the Penguins to call up Thiessen.
In 37 games with the Baby Penguins, Thiessen is 20-14-2 with a 2.88 GAA and is tied for fourth in the AHL in wins.
Last season, Thiessen set a franchise record with 35 wins and seven shutouts. He finished the year with a 35-8-1 record with a 1.94 GAA and .922 save percentage.
On Monday the Penguins recalled forward Eric Tangradi.
The Penguins take on the New York Rangers at CONSOL Energy Center tonight at 7 p.m.
