Penguins Recall Dustin Jeffrey, Injury Report
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled forward Dustin Jeffrey from the team's American Hockey League affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Tuesday.
Jeffrey was sent down to the Baby Pens, but it's believed he still has considerable work to do in recovering from offseason knee surgery. Thus, the Penguins have likely recalled him so he can work with team doctors in Pittsburgh.
Jeffrey was called up before the Penguins 6-3 win against Colorado Tuesday night, and at first it seemed he might have been called up because of a shortage of available forwards. However, both Tyler Kennedy and Steve Sullivan returned to the lineup.
Kennedy has been recovering from a concussion. Sullivan had an unspecified injury. Both finished with one assist on the night.
