Penguins Open Training Camp On Wednesday

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Hockey season is about to get underway.

The Penguins announced that players will report to training camp on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Then, on Thursday morning, they will be taking the ice for the first practice of the season.

Fans will be able to get their first glimpse of the team on Saturday, Sept. 14, when the Penguins' practice and scrimmage will be open to the public.

Gates to CONSOL Energy Center will open at 8:30 a.m.

The next day, Sunday, Sept. 15, the Pens head to Nationwide Arena in Columbus where they will take on the Blue Jackets for the first of six preseason games. The action starts at 6 p.m.

The Penguins will open the regular season on Oct. 3 when they host the New Jersey Devils at 7 p.m. on CONSOL Energy Center ice.
