Penguins' Neal Added To All-Star Game, Steelers' Clark Added To Pro Bowl
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It's going to be a big weekend for several of Pittsburgh's favorite athletes.
The NHL All-Star Game and the NFL's annual Pro Bowl game will both be played this Sunday, Jan. 29.
In addition to Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, it was announced today by the Penguins that forward James Neal has been added to the NHL All-Star Game roster.
The three will represent the Penguins at the weekend-long event, which is being held this year in Ottawa.
Malkin was named to the original roster, and Letang was added earlier this week as a replacement for Winnipeg's Dustin Byfuglien.
As for Neal, he will be making his All-Star Game debut. In 2009, he took park in the YoungStars Game in Montreal.
Neal leads the league in shots and power play goals.
The NHL All-Star Game will be played at Scotiabank Place and starts at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Steelers announced this morning that safety Ryan Clark has been added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster. He replaces Ed Reed, of the Baltimore Ravens, who will miss the game with an injury.
Ben Roethlisberger, Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown and James Harrison are all also on the roster. Maurkice Pouncey and Troy Polamalu were voted in to the game but will miss it due to injuries.
This will be Clark's first trip to the Pro Bowl.
The Pro Bowl will be played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu and starts at 7 p.m.
