Penguins' Fans Excited To Welcome Jarome Iginla To Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Penguins fans had two reasons to smile Thursday night: 1. The Pens won again, extending their winning streak to 14. 2. The team is getting another star player.
That player is former Calgary Flames star winger, Jarome Iginla.
He's not playing yet, but they were already selling Penguins' jerseys with his name on them.
In fact, those jerseys were the best-selling item Thursday at the Pens Gear store inside CONSOL Energy Center. The store manager says they'll also have Iginla t-shirts by Friday.
Fans believe Iginla is another powerful player for an already powerful team.
Susan Gazzo, of Prospect, says the Penguins are building a "powerhouse."
For some fans, the recent trades - including Iginla - serve to increase expectations that the Pens will win the Stanley Cup this year.
