Paterno Sticking With McGloin At QB
Penn State and Joe Paterno will go with Matt McGloin as their starting quarterback for Saturday's game against Indiana.
McGloin, a redshirt sophomore, threw for 159 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in last week's 38-14 loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Paterno also expects to have tailbacks Evan Royster and Stephfon Green available for the Saturday's game. Royster suffered a left knee injury in the loss to the Buckeyes.
To make matters worse, an inconsistent Nittany Lions defense will likely be without perhaps its best player. Sophomore linebacker Michael Mauti has a separated right shoulder and will probably not play on Saturday.
With wins in their remaining two games against Indiana (4-6, 0-6 Big Ten) and No. 12 Michigan State (9-1, 5-1 Big Ten), Penn State (6-4, 3-3 Big Ten) would solidify their chances for a New Year's Day bowl game.
