Pat Narduzzi: 'We Want To Win A Championship...Now'
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Pitt football head coach Pat Narduzzi joined "The Fan Morning Show" Thursday, fresh off his first trip to the ACC meetings as Pitt's head coach.
Narduzzi doesn't want to brag too much before his team has a chance to prove itself on the field, but he feels great about their chances to make moves in the ACC this season.
"I hate to say much," Narduzzi said. "But, I believe we've got the guys in that locker room that can go make some damage in that conference."
Narduzzi believes that Pitt's defensive players will be able to learn his system without lagging too much on the field.
"One thing you'll notice in a 'Narduzzi' so-called defense is that we'll be known for keeping it simple enough that our guys can play fast," Narduzzi said. "We still may make mistakes, but we will make those mistakes at a high rate of speed."
Narduzzi wants his program to be just as fast when it comes to entering the ACC title picture.
"We want to win a championship," Narduzzi said. "I don't want to win it in three years, I don't want to win in four or five. We want to win it now. I think if we go in with anything less than trying to get to the ACC Championship Game, against whoever it may be, and play for everything in the conference, then it's not a successful season. Period. And that's our goal. That's where we want to go."
