Pat Narduzzi Announces Official Hiring Of New Offensive Coordinator
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - As you read right here earlier in the week, new Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi has hired Arkansas offensive coordinator Jim Chaney to run his offense here at Pitt.
A 30-year coaching veteran has spend time in the Big Ten, Southeastern Conference and NFL. Chaney comes to Pitt taking the same position he previously held at Arkansas.
Through a university release, Narduzzi has the following to say about Chaney.
"Jim Chaney brings outstanding experience and knowledge to our staff. He has the expertise to run different offenses and tailor game plans to his personnel's strengths. Moreover, Jim is a brilliant quarterback coach who has tutored some exceptional college and pro players, including a Super Bowl MVP in Drew Brees."
Under Chaney's guidance, the Razorbacks had their first winning season since 2011 averaging 406 yards and 31.9 points per game finishing their season with a 31-7 win over Texas in the Texas Bowl.
Chaney's offense featured two 1,000-yard rushers and a 2,000-yard passer. Chaney will also serve as the team's quarterbacks coach.
Pitt has also announced the hiring of linebackers coach Rob Harley who was previously serving as the linebackers coach at FIU where he worked alongside new Pitt defensive coordinator Josh Conklin.
