Promoter Pat DiCesare Remembers Dick Clark
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- In 1939, a young Dick Clark saw a television for the first time, and the world was never the same again.
Through his rich career, Clark was a radio broadcaster, producer, TV host, a creator of countless television programs, and for decades was the official host of New Year's Eve.
He was a pioneer in music, bringing music styles and acts to the forefront of American culture with "American Bandstand," and was a trailblazer in shaping television into what it is today. Yesterday, he died at 82 from a massive heart attack.
Dick Clark even had influence in Pittsburgh. KDKA AM's Larry Richert talks to legendary promoter Pat DiCesare of DiCesare-Engler Productions, about the legacy of Dick Clark, as well as some personal anecdotes.
