Panther Hollow: Chryst Expects Quick Turnaround
PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Some players discussed the need to put foresight above hindsight after Pitt was upset by Youngstown State, 31-17, at Heinz Field Saturday, and head coach Paul Chryst said in his weekly press conference he expects tangible progress to be made between game one and game two, Thursday's Big East opener against Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium.
"I think players in general bounce back pretty quick...and I think there's times where adults can probably learn from that, the coaches. I love right now where this group is at and I think they've had the right response," Chryst said on the South Side Monday afternoon. "They certainly weren't happy with what happened, but they weren't in the tank either. They weren't hanging their heads and I think they saw the film and there's a little bit of 'we can and will do anything' to change it. I think they bounce back pretty quick."
Chryst got into specifics regarding what his team can take from Saturday's loss, such as what improvements can and must be made defensively, and what he liked from the offense, including the much-anticipated return of senior tailback Ray Graham.

This approaching game will also be the season opener for the Bearcats, who defeated Pitt, 26-23, last Nov. 5 en route to a shared Big East championship. In 2010, their last trip to Cincy, the Panthers were victorious, 28-10.
