State Police Investigating Deadly Shooting In Long John Silver's Parking Lot
SOUTH UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- A 21-year-old man is behind bars and facing homicide charges after a deadly shooting in Fayette County.
The shooting happened around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of Long John Silver's in South Union Township.
Pennsylvania State Police say that a victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds -- two to the chest and one in the arm.
Justin Rittacco, 21, was identified as the shooter. He was arrested and charged with criminal homicide.
Investigators say Rittacco was at the restaurant on Morgantown Road to drop someone off at work. As he was leaving, a black Acura sedan pulled up behind him and Rittacco pulled back into a parking spot.
Then, police say the victim, Robert Lukehart, got out of the car and ran up to Rittacco's window. According to court paperwork, Rittacco told police he shot Robert Lukehart because "he approached his vehicle in an aggressive manner and felt his life was threatened."
Rittacco is accused of firing approximately three rounds from a pistol, striking the victim before fleeing the scene.
Lukehart, 39, leaves behind three children and a fiance.
