Overnight North Side Fire May Have Started On Porch
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Crews battled a two-alarm house fire overnight on Pittsburgh's North Side.
The blaze broke out just before 4 a.m. in the 1300-block of Damas Street near Spring Hill Elementary School.
Officials say they believe the flames first sparked in the porch area of the house.
"We were sleeping and a gentleman was pounding on our door. He said he was on his way to work down Homer Street and he seen fire," said Stacie Brown, a neighbor. "When we came running out of the house, I grabbed the baby, came over to my mom's. The whole of back of her house was up in flames."
The elderly woman who lived there was not home at the time of the fire.
Authorities say no injuries were reported.
