2 Arrested In Connection With Christmas Eve Homewood Murder

Update: Charges have since been dropped.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) - Police have arrested two suspects in the fatal Christmas Eve shooting near a Pittsburgh home where a sexual assault attempt was reported hours earlier.

This morning, police arrested 19-year-old Mark Coleman at a home in Allentown.

He was arrested without incident and transported to Pittsburgh Police Headquarters on the North Side.

KDKA-TV was the only station there when he was walked into the police station.

On Tuesday, Ronald Steave was arraigned on charges of homicide, conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse and carrying an unlicensed firearm.

The 22-year-old Steave is jailed without bail. Online court records didn't list information on a lawyer to comment on the charges.

Police said 23-year-old Devin Jackson's body was found in a wooded area off an alley in the city's Homewood section.

Officers had responded to an attempted sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl and a 6-year-old about nine hours earlier.

Police say Jackson was involved in an incident in the home but wouldn't say if he was suspected of attempting sexual assault.
