1 Dead, 1 Injured In McKeesport Shooting

MCKEESPORT (KDKA) - A fight between two groups of people ended one person's life and injured an innocent person walking by, according to police.
Police say the fatal shooting took place in an alley off of Sumac Street in McKeesport just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.
"It's just disturbing here anymore in McKeesport," said Tim Claar, a neighbor.
Claar lives a few houses away from the scene of the crime and said he didn't know either of the victims.
"They had the whole street taped off and they had police cars all up and down the line and even brought a fire truck in," said Claar.
We also talked with one neighbor off-camera who said that police came and took the surveillance video from the cameras posted on his home directed at the street and the alley.
KDKA counted more than a half dozen vacant homes along the street, and Claar said that is just further proof that the neighborhood continues to go downhill. Claar said he's lived on Sumac Street for more than 25 years and he wishes he could move.
"There's a couple of folks that have moved up here that are undesirable and they've been running around the neighborhood and they let their kids run around," he said.
Police say that surveillance footage shows two black males running away from the scene. There's no known motive at this time.
"It does freak me out," said James Fortner, a neighbor. "I don't know what could cause someone to be harmed to where it'd be lethal."
Police say the two groups physically fought before the guns got involved. The victim died after being shot in the head. He has been identified as 17-year-old Khaire Cole.
The innocent passerby got shot in the leg and is in stable condition at the hospital. Police have also not released that person's identity.
