Officials Release Age-Progression Photos Of Missing Penn Hills Twins
PENN HILLS (KDKA) – Officials have released new age-progression photos of Penn Hills twins who have been missing for about a decade.
According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Ivon and Inisha Fowler were last seen on Sept. 11, 2006. They were 7 years old at the time.
Today, they released age-progression photos showing what the twins may look like now at age 17.
"We want to get that image out to as many people as possible," said Mike Murphy, of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. "The more people that see it, the higher probability there is for someone to recognize one of these two children."
An artist at the center, which is based in northern Virginia, has been working on the age-progressed pictures for about a month. Murphy says part of the reason it took so long to create the images was because Ivon was burned as an infant in scalding hot bath water.
"With Ivon there was some scarring to his face, so the artist has to take additional time in making sure they progress that to what they believe the image would look like today," said Murphy.
The investigation into the missing fraternal twins began after police removed four children from Patricia Fowler's Penn Hills home in June. It came at the request of the Allegheny County Office of Children, Youth and Families.
Later, police were told there should have been six children living with Fowler, not four.
When quizzed by detectives about their whereabouts, Fowler gave conflicting answers.
According to investigators, she said she sold them for $2,000 each, but then later changed her story when told that if she had sold the kids, she would be charged criminally.
Police say she explained the twins were living with a high school friend. Then, she said, they were living with an aunt out-of-state.
Police have been unable to verify any of the stories.
Last month, a preliminary hearing for Patricia Fowler was postponed so she could undergo a mental health evaluation.
KDKA's Heather Abraham went to Patricia Fowler's home Wednesday to show her the age-progressed pictures of her kids. A sign on the door said, "No one home. Go away."
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Datwon Fowler is facing charges for allegedly lying to police when he pretended to be his missing brother.
He said he lied to police to stop the investigation and to make sure his family would be left alone.
His preliminary hearing was also postponed last month.
