Officials Probe Theft Of Copper & Phone Wire In Westmoreland Co.
GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- State police in Westmoreland County are searching for suspects after large amounts of wire were taken from local businesses.
According to investigators, about 125 feet of phone wire was stolen from Verizon in Unity Township sometime on Tuesday.
Also this week, officials with Allegheny Power reported to state police that copper wire had been stolen from a power substation on Hickory Avenue in Derry Township.
State police in Greensburg are investigating both incidents, but there is no word if the two crimes are connected.
