Obama Tougher On Immigration Than Bush?
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- Since taking office, the Obama administration has overseen the deportation of more than 1.06 million illegal immigrants, according to Reuters.
That is compared to 1.57 million deportations that took place during former President George W. Bush's term in office, meaning that President Obama is on track to deport as many immigrants in four years as Mr. Bush did in eight.
NewsRadio 1020 KDKA's Robert Mangino talks with Bob Dane, press secretary and spokesperson for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). Mangino asks Dane how FAIR would grade the President's immigration policy, as well as how the President's efforts to focus primarily on illegals who have committed crimes fits with this higher deportation rate.
Dane argues that the Obama administration is taking credit for "leftover" deportations from the Bush administration, and that the President doesn't deserve credit for being tough on immigration.
