4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Reported In Northeast Ohio

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) -- Federal geologists say an earthquake struck just northeast of Cleveland.

The USGS reports that the 4.0 magnitude quake hit near Cleveland around 10:50 a.m., the quake was centered just off of the city, in Lake Erie.

There were no reports immediately of damage, and the U.S. Geological Survey is collecting responses from people who felt the tremors. A magnitude 4 earthquake can cause moderate damage.

The Ohio Department of Transportation posted video of what it looked like when the quake hit.

The City of Mentor reports that their 911 systems are being inundated with calls, and are asking residents not to call unless it's an emergency.

Northeast Ohio residents are also taking to social media to report feeling the quake. Some say that their power is currently out.
