North Allegheny Rowing Coach Charged With Having Sex With Student
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A North Allegheny High School female rowing coach has been charged with sexual assault for having a relationship with a student.
Police say 31-year-old Megan Batykefer admitted to having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student.
Batykefer is the head rowing coach of the boys crew team.
The student was an adult at the time of their relationship and lasted between April and July.
The student told police he knew it would be inappropriate for the two to date prior to his 18th birthday and waited until after to share his feeling with Batykefer.
Batykefer told police she and the student had sex about a dozen times at her Coraopolis home.
Batykefer has been charged with one count of sexual assault and has a preliminary hearing scheduled Oct. 28.
There's been no comment from North Allegheny School District officials on the charges, despite our repeated calls.
