No Charges Filed After 2 Children Found Alone On North Side
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two young children were found home on Pittsburgh's North Side Thursday after one of them wandered out into the cold wearing only underwear.
A neighbor saw the 4-year-old on the porch of the home on Jacksonia Street.
She wrapped the child in a coat, and then called police.
When officers arrived they found a second child, a 2-year-old, inside and could not locate the parents.
"Mom came in shortly after that and had explained that dad was watching them and had asked someone else to watch the child just until he picked her up and could return home," said Lt. Shirley Sloan, of Pittsburgh Police.
The downstairs neighbor who was watching the children says he did check on them twice, and they were asleep, but the older girl wandered outside when he went to get ready for work.
No charges are being filed.
