Reports: NHL Puts Shanahan In Charge Of Discipline
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Many Penguin and fans of the NHL will be happy to hear that Colin Campbell is no longer in charge of discipline in the NHL.
Campbell has been heavily criticized over the last few seasons for his handling of league suspensions and fines.
Why did Matt Cooke receive such a long suspension while no suspension was given for the vicious hit on Sidney Crosby? The examples of Campbell's uneven punishment are endless.
Campbell is relinquishing his duties as head of discipline for the NHL and will reportedly be replaced in that role by former NHL player Brendan Shanahan.
Campbell otherwise will remain in his executive role with the league's hockey operations department in Toronto.
