NHL.com's Kimelman: Crosby Favorite For Hart Trophy
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Sidney Crosby has spent a good portion of the year without one of his top wingers in Pascal Dupuis as he recovers from knee surgery, but that hasn't appeared to slow him down very much.
Adam Kimelman of NHL.com shares that same opinion as he looks at the top candidates to win the NHL's Hart Trophy, awarded each year to the league's most valuable player. As Kimelman points out, the Pens are playing with what appears at times to be as many AHL players as NHL players on the roster, but Crosby continues to produce and carry the Pens to one of the league's best records.
Going into the Olympic break, Crosby led the league in assists (50) and total points (78), putting him on pace for 110 points this year. As you'll read in Kimelman's article, those aren't the only areas of Crosby's game that set him apart from everyone else.
The Hart Trophy won't just be handed over to Crosby according to Kimelman as he lists Anaheim's Ryan Getzlaf and Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis as other finalists for the award.
