NFLPA Advising Incoming Prospects To Boycott The NFL Draft
NEW YORK (KDKA) - The war between the NFL and the NFLPA continues to escalate.
Now, the NFLPA or "Trade Association" is now advising top incoming rookies to boycott the upcoming NFL Draft in New York City.
According to NFL.com, the NFLPA has contacted 17 top draft prospects, who could receive an invitation from the NFL to attend the draft at Radio City Music Hall, and told them not to go.
Another report on ProFootballTalk.com states that the NFLPA is considering placing the top draft picks on another network instead of the customary NFL Network and ESPN.
The NFL still plans to invite 15 to 20 players and their families to New York City for the draft. All expenses would be paid and it will be up to the player to make the decision. The NFL stated they will not pay an appearance fee to have the players attend the draft.
The first round of the NFL Draft is scheduled for Thursday, April 28. It will be followed by the second and third rounds on April 29 and with the final four rounds on Saturday, April 30.
