NFL Network Aditi Kinkhabwala Talks Rooney Rule Impact On Off-Season Hirings
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- NFL Network Reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala joined Starkey and Miller with Chris Mueller on Sports Radio 93.7 The FAN to talk about the Rooney Rule, and how it has affected the off-season hiring's of eight different head coaches and seven general managers.
Aditi said the hiring of Dave Gettleman in Carolina proved that the "Good Ole Boys Network" is still in affect in the NFL and that the Rooney Rule should be modified to apply to coordinators as well as head coaches to try and help coaches at all levels advance their careers.
The success of minority coaches like Mike Tomlin and Tony Dungy according to Aditi opens up opportunities for other minority coaches and makes the path that much easier for them to travel.
