NFL Hall Of Famer Tony Dorsett Sees Some Of His Game In Adrian Peterson
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pitt Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett talked with Starkey, Miller and Mueller about his time in the NFL and if there is anyone in the league right now who plays the game the way he did.
"I think a guy that is kind of elusive but he's got a little bit more aggressiveness than I had at the time is Adrian Peterson," said Dorsett. "He's a little bit more of an angrier runner than I was but he's elusive, he's quick, he's fast."
Dorsett also gave his thoughts on the new rules that will be implemented this year that will prohibit running backs from lowering their helmet at the point of contact.
"I'm waiting to see exactly how they call this particular situation. A lot of times a guy when he goes to make contact, you can't help but put your head down. I don't totally agree with that, but I do agree with the fact that they need to do whatever they can to protect the players from some of the injuries that have been occurring over the years," he said. "It may be a good rule, but from a running back's perspective, I don't know if it's good for a runner because it kind of takes away some of your instincts."
Dorsett also tells us about his upcoming Tony Dorsett Ramblin' Gamblin Monte Carlo Night this Sunday, June 2.
