New Field And Stream Store Opens In Washington Co.
WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) – Dick's Sporting Goods has opened another "Field and Stream" store, this time in Washington County.
The store held an official ribbon cutting Friday morning at its new location in the Old Mill Shopping Center, complete with a real bald eagle.
"Washington, Pa., is our backyard, so we are so proud and excited to have this many people come out on a Friday morning and share this experience with us," said Shian-Li McGuire.
The subsidiary of Dick's Sporting Goods specializes in items for the outdoorsman. Whether you hunt, fish, hike or camp, they've got you covered.
"They have a lot of stuff. Dried food in packets and hunting knives and they have a lot of stuff here," said Patrick Henderson, of Washington County.
"What's really cool here is they have a whole cowboy shop, so they have all the boots and clothes for everyone. Plus, they have all the Carhartt for all the workers and stuff like that, selling all the fire retardant products, so I think it's going to bring everyone," added Matt Geist, of New Jersey.
The 50,000 square foot store on Route 19 is the sixth to open in the country and the third in Pennsylvania.
Customers will also be able to learn tips and techniques from professional anglers at the 4,000 gallon Field & Stream bass tank, and practice at the Field & Stream Ultimate Shootout Archery Trailer.
Store hours for the weekend: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Pittsburgh Steeler Brett Keisel stopped by to make an appearance at the new store and sign autographs.
The store is the second "Field and Stream" store in the area.
A Cranberry Township location opened up last year.
Field and Stream as a brand has been around for more than 140 years.
