New Project Aims To Curb Greenfield Flooding
GREENFIELD (KDKA) - The fight against rising water in Greenfield will have a new weapon as crews began installing a new line to prevent flooding Monday morning.
According to the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, an emergency water line replacement project has begun on Melbourne Street.
They are hoping the project will help ease flooding that has caused extensive damage to property and the streets.
The existing six-inch water main will be replaced with an eight-inch water main.
Crews will be working Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. While construction is underway, traffic and parking will be restricted.
The project is expected to be completed in October.
