New Details In Ross Twp. Hit-And-Run

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police in Ross Township released new details on the type of car they think was involved in a hit-and-run last Friday night.

A 72-year-old woman who just left Seib's Pub with her husband after a private party was crossing Babcock Boulevard when she was struck. The woman had a broken leg and needed 40 stitches.

Police now believe the car was a white 2000-2006 Kia Optima.

According to Ross Twp. Police Detective Brian Kohlhepp, the car stopped, but the driver didn't get out of the car and eventually drove off.

The woman was in the middle of the road at the time and the car was going northbound on Babcock.

Judy Seibert, owner of the pub, heard the commotion outside her restaurant Friday night.

She told KDKA-TV that a paramedic who was inside and an employee who's a nurse ran out to tend to the woman before paramedics arrived.

"How can you live with yourself if you do something like that to a person," she said.

The vehicle likely has damage to the driver's side front end. The front bumper may be missing.

The victim is out of the hospital and recovering at home.
