New Controversial Billboard Turning Heads In South Hills

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A new billboard in the Pittsburgh area is coming under fire for its controversial message.

The advertisement for ArrangementFinders.com features former adult film star Bree Olson, with a caption "Hey students, Need a Summer Job? Date a Sugar Daddy."

The billboard can be found on Library Road in the Royal Place parking lot in the South Hills.

The site says it's an exclusive service that connects men and women looking for mutually beneficial arrangements. In this case, students who want to date a sugar daddy. The site already has over 8,500 members from the Pittsburgh area.

"I think it's pretty sad, because it doesn't empower women to make their own money," said student Patricia Campbell.

"Some women do that, but for me, it's kind of an insult. I think that I have better opportunities than that," said student Catherine Cepeda.

Right now there's only one billboard in the Pittsburgh area. Company President A.J. Perkins says the billboards are designed to attract grad students -- well over the age of 21 -- not the 18-year-old away from home for the first time.

The billboard isn't located near a college campus, but is in a high-traffic area.

"It's terrible for gender, it's terrible for any kind of empowerment. It contradicts higher learning," one person said.

Now the billboard has only been up since Sunday, so it's too soon to see how effective it's going to be. But it's going to be there a month, so the advertisers say they'll know shortly just how reception in Pittsburgh's going to be.
