Nemacolin's Lady Luck Casino To Be Open To All -- For A Fee
FARMINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- Nemacolin, the luxurious mountain resort in the Laurel Highlands, where chandeliers and glitz make you feel like royalty, is now completing construction of the region's first resort casino -- the Lady Luck Casino to open in July.
"They'll be 600 slots, 28 table games, they'll be a restaurant, a bar, there's a stage for entertainment, so it's a full-on casino entertainment experience all surrounded by one of the most beautiful resorts in the world," Nemacolin General Manager Chris Plummer told KDKA money editor Jon Delano on Tuesday.
Run by the Isle of Capri who once bid for Pittsburgh's casino, Lady Luck Casino is a great amenity for Nemacolin guests, but what about the rest of us?
In Pennsylvania, all stand-alone casinos and racetrack casinos are open to everyone, but that's not true at resort casinos like Nemacolin's.
Resort casinos are only available to those who stay there, but Nemacolin and the Gaming Control Board have come up with a way to open it to everyone for a fee.
There are four ways to get entry to the casino: stay the night at the resort, spend at least $10 on food, apparel or services at Nemacolin, buy a one-time $10 gift card, or buy a $45 resort card good for a year.
With plenty of new parking, gaming enthusiasts can go directly to the casino.
"Right there would be where you could buy the $45 membership, or where - if you weren't interested in that membership - you could purchase the $10 gift card to get into the casino," noted Plummer.
While Nemacolin is a drive for many, Plummer says it's a trip worth making.
"It's a full-on resort with amenities unmatched like any real casino in the country or maybe even the world," he said.
