Nemacolin's Lady Luck Casino Gets Thumbs Up For Table Games
FARMINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- Nemacolin Woodlands Resort got the news it wanted to hear from Harrisburg on Wednesday: It will be allowed to have table games at the casino it plans to open this summer.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board gave the thumbs up for 28 table games at the Lady Luck Casino. There will be 14 blackjack tables, as well as tables for craps, roulette and poker.
There was a "dealer school" held Wednesday evening for people who want jobs as dealers at those tables.
Scott Plummer, general manager at Nemacolin, says the casino will mean 400 jobs, 130 of them from table games alone.
"It is going to be a casino that hasn't been in Pennsylvania yet," said Plummer.
Nemacolin was awarded one of only two resort casino licenses in the state.
Isle of Capri will operate the casino, which is the group that had partnered with the Pittsburgh Penguins for a casino proposal before the group behind the Rivers Casino was chosen instead.
Nemacolin is renovating an existing building to make way for the casino. It will have 600 slot machines.
