Murrysville Bar Shooting Deemed Murder-Suicide, 1 Hospitalized
MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) – A shooting at a Westmoreland County bar that left two people dead on Saturday has been ruled a murder-suicide.
According to police, the shooting happened sometime after 7 p.m. just off of Route 22 in the parking lot of the Cozy Inn Bar & Grill in Murrysville.
On Sunday, the Westmoreland County Coroner's Office identified the victims as Gina Llewellyn, 50, of Allegheny Township, and Michael Lundsford Jr., 21, of Murrysville.
"We had three people that were shot, two females and a male far as we know that's the total amount of people that were injured," Murrysville Police Chief Thomas Seefeld said.
The coroner's report said Llewellyn was shot in the chest by Lundsford Jr. He also shot Llewellyn's daughter, before he then turned the gun on himself, according to police.
A witness said he heard the three gunshots and then saw Lunsford collapse in front of the bar.
"It is not related to the Cozy Inn Bar so everybody knows," Seefeld said. "The situation with people that ended up in this parking lot were not patrons or owners of the bar."
Right now police aren't saying why it happened. It's being described as a domestic dispute, but no details are available on the relationship between the gunman and the victims.
Llewellyn's daughter has not been identified. She reportedly underwent surgery at Mercy Hospital and has not been told that her mother was shot and killed.
Murrysville Police are still investigating the murder suicide. There are still many details that will likely be released by the police chief Monday.
