McCANDLESS, Pa. (KDKA) -- This morning, 11 families are displaced after an apartment building in McCandless went up in flames on Saturday night.

With the flames out, windows have been boarded up, and some families are now scrambling.

Just after 9:30 on Saturday night, multiple fire companies were called to handle the fire at the Royal Manor Apartments.

Fire Marshal Jeff Wissner said crews found a fire in the kitchen of one of the apartments once they arrived and got inside.

Right now, it's not known if there are any major injuries but one man was treated for minor injuries on the scene.

As we said, 11 families have been displaced as a result and the Red Cross is assisting those families.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
