Mt. Lebanon Deer Cull To Start Monday
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A controversial plan to shoot and kill dozens of deer in Mt. Lebanon gets underway Monday.
The municipality hired a company to kill up to 150 deer by the end of the month.
The deer will be trapped in corrals in several parks, including McNeilly Park, Rob Hollow Park and the Connor Road Conservation Area.
The deer meat will be given to area food banks.
However, many have opposed the plan.
Earlier this week, Mt. Lebanon police say someone was caught on camera spraying deer repellent on the pens used the capture the deer.
Several protests have also taken place in response to the decision.
