Darrelle Revis deliberated carefully on how he would give back to the community that made him not just an All-Pro defensive back, but a PIAA football champion, and a Division I scholar athlete. He chose to pass along the power of a gridiron education.

On Thursday morning the former Pitt standout and current New York Jets star returned to his native Aliquippa with his Revis Island Foundation to launch the inaugural Darrelle Revis Skills and Drills Clinic at Aliquippa High School's Carl Aschman Stadium, a.k.a. "The Pit". The three-day event gives local youth the opportunity to work with he and some of his football-playing friends on the same exercises he uses routinely in the NFL.

Joining Revis were venerable Aliquippa alumni Sean Gilbert, Terry Patrick, Ty Law, and Pittsburgh Power wide receiver Mike "The Joystick" Washington. Also volunteering their time were Carolina Panthers cornerback Darius Butler, Chicago Bears strong safety Major Wright, and Jets receiver Laveranues Coles.

Here's what was happening on day one of Darrelle's camp (special thanks to Rubino Productions for their cooperation):

OTHER HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL NEWS:

According to the father of Dravon Henry, the Aliquippa junior running back has offers from Rutgers, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Maryland, and Michigan State.

Henry rushed for over 1,300 yards and scored 21 total touchdowns as a sophomore. He was the featured back in an offense that helped the Quips finally capture a WPIAL Class AA championship after three consecutive defeats at Heinz Field.
