Motorcycle Crash Closes Down Route 28 Near Pittsburgh Mills
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A motorcyclist was reportedly severely injured in a crash that shut down Route 28 and backed up traffic for several miles late Wednesday night.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes, right in front of the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills Mall, near Exit 14.
According witnesses, the motorcyclist was severely injured.
Sources with one of the local volunteer fire departments in the area confirms that the motorcyclist was a man. His identity and condition have not been released.
Officials closed down both sides of Route 28, backing up traffic for miles.
The road has since reopened.
Officials directing traffic at Cheswick exit say there were a couple fender benders in the heavy traffic. One semi even sideswiped another vehicle.
But no injuries were reported.
