More Snow Closing In Fast On Region

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - We are tracking another winter storm, which will arrive Tuesday evening and extend into Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 6 p.m. Tuesday until 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Forecasters are predicting between between 3 and 6 inches by the time the storm moves out.

On Tuesday, we can expect increasing cloudiness with a rain/snow mix arriving by late afternoon or early evening. The high will be 40 degrees.

Then, tomorrow night the precipitation will change to all snow and accumulate to 2 to 4 inches by Wednesday mid-day.

KDKA-TV Meteorologist Dennis Bowman expects 6 inches or more in the ridges off to our east and about 4 to 6 inches near the Mason-Dixon Line. So, heavier snow to the south and lighter amounts to the north of Pittsburgh. Wednesday's high will be 35 degrees.

  • Listen to Accu-Weather's Carl Erickson on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA:

We should get into mostly sunny skies for Thursday and Friday with highs getting close to 40 degrees.
