One Person Shot On Leslie Road In Monroeville
MONROEVILLE, Pa. (KDKA) -- Officials say they are investigating after one person was shot inside a car in Monroeville.
According to police, an 18-year-old male was shot. He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
"We don't believe there's any risk to the community at this time," said Monroeville Police Chief Doug Cole. "We're continuing to follow this up, we do believe that the victim did know his assailant or assailants."
KDKA has learned from Monroeville Police that they have two people in custody after the Tuesday night shooting on Leslie Road.
They also say the victim and those in custody know each other.
KDKA spoke to neighbors who say they heard at least six gunshots last night.
They describe the scene as very busy and were told by police to stay inside.
People who live in the area say they're surprised by what occurred, claiming their area is usually quiet.
It was around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when the shooting happened.
Monroeville Police say that was when they found an 18-year-old shot multiple times inside a car.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to Forbes Hospital.
At this time, police believe there is no threat to the public and no one has been charged.
Details on a motive are unknown.
