Monroeville Native, Wife Victims Of Double Homicide In Nebraska
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Monroeville native, 65-year-old Dr. Roger Brumback, and his 65-year-old wife, Mary, were on the verge of starting a new life in West Virginia after Brumback recently announced his retirement.
But their lives ended violently and suddenly this week when the couple was found murdered in their home in Omaha, Neb.
Police would not say how they died, except that they were treating their deaths as a double homicide.
Brumback was a 1965 graduate of Gateway High School, and in 1971 he graduated from Penn State with a medical degree. He was part of the first class of Penn State's medical school.
Before relocating, Dr. Brumback had a pediatric practice in the Wilkins Township area; and for a time, he lived in Delmont.
No motive has been released by Omaha Police.
But the Brumbacks' murders were the second double killings associated with Creighton University's Pathology Department in the past five years.
In 2008, the 11-year-old son and housekeeper of another Creighton pathology doctor were found slain. Those killings remain unsolved to this day.
