2 Houses Damaged By Fire In Monessen
MONESSEN, Pa. (KDKA) - A fire in Monessen late Wednesday morning heavily damaged two houses.
Crews from around the area helped douse the flames at Ninth Street and Locust Avenue. It got a good start and wind made matters worse, making it even more difficult for already tired crews.
NewsChopper 2 flew over the scene.
It's been a busy week for the Monessen Fire Department.
"Counting homes this will be the fifth home from Monday to Tuesday in a week's period," said Fire Chief Delmar Hepple.
Despite that, Monessen's fire chief says all things considered, "Saved two occupied homes on the end so it was a pretty good morning, good stop."
It's still not clear how this fire started. Investigators are now starting to sort through the charred remains to see if they can pinpoint a cause.
