Mom Ordered To Take Parenting Classes In Scottdale Fight Case
SCOTTDALE (KDKA) -- A local mom charged with cheering on her daughter in a fight that ended up on YouTube went before a judge this afternoon.
Chassidy Stenger, of Everson, didn't comment after her hearing was continued on charges of criminal solicitation and corruption of minors. She was ordered to take parenting classes before her new hearing date.
Investigators say her 13-year-old daughter can be seen in a YouTube video, allegedly fighting with a 16-year-old sophomore from Southmoreland High School.
Police allege that Stenger can be heard in the background of the tape encouraging her daughter to fight.
Last week in juvenile court, both teens were found delinquent on a charge of disorderly conduct and ordered to pay a fine. Stenger told KDKA at that time she would plead not guilty to the charges against her.
Sources tell KDKA that if Stenger successfully completes the parenting classes, the charges against her will be reduced and she will pay a small fine.
Stenger says the bullying has continued since the fight at Scottdale's Garfield Park back in April. She says it has gotten so bad that she and her children are moving out of the Southmoreland School District in the next couple of weeks.
