Police Believe Twins Missing For 10 Years Are Dead
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Charlene Miller came to court Monday in hopes she would would learn where her twin grandchildren, Ivon and Ineisha Fowler, have been for the past 10 years. But she left heartbroken once again.
"Tell us where are the kids. They said they changed their names and everything, and I told her they're looking for remains," Miller said.
The twins' mother, Patricia Fowler, did not testify, but police outlined what's been done to try and find the fraternal twins.
Officers were initially called to Fowler's home earlier this year for a wellness check on four children. What police discovered is that two children were unaccounted for.
Ivon and Inisha have not been seen since they were around two years old.
Police say their brother Datwon told them, each got sick, at different times in their lives, and the next day they were just gone without a trace.
"She not only misplaced, or neglect or got rid of them kids, she's got four more children. Two's in a nursing home for autism and muscular dystrophy. Never took them to the hospital," Miller said.
Police testified based on their investigations that Fowler kept the kids locked in a bedroom and did not get medical care for them when needed. The last time officially either was seen was the early 2000's when Ivon was treated for burns.
Their dad was in jail for the past 10 years on unrelated charges, but his mother said today - she fears the worst for her missing grandchildren.
"I believe she did something to those children," Miller said.
Both Patricia and Datwon have been ordered to stand trial.
