Mom Bakes Funny 'Apology Cake' After Accusing Daughter Of Doing Drugs
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A mom's apology to her daughter is going viral.
Rachel Gelmis posted the creative cake to Twitter and Facebook after her mother accused her of taking drugs.
The orange treat with purple frosting reads: "Sorry we thought you did meth...and coke and pot and heroin."
The incident took place in 2012, but gained attention this weekend when Gelmis posted it.
Apparently Gelmis took a drug test at the request of her parents, a service offered by her Alabama school. When the results came back, the girl was told she tested positive for not only THC...but cocaine, heroin, meth, benzos and barbiturates as well.
"I knew this was not true. My mother on the other hand, believed it," she wrote.
Thankfully the mix-up was soon corrected.
"A few hours later, the school contacted my mom and told her they had completely misread the test," Gelmis wrote.
She wasn't ready to forgive and forget without a little incentive.
"I asked her to make the cake," Gelmis told The Huffington Post. "She felt really bad about the whole thing and I thought it would be something silly to make us both feel better."
What did the cake taste like? Apparently the frosting was caramel apple flavored.
