MLB On Fox Analyst Talks Bucs' April, Future Of NL Central
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The Pirates finished off the opening month of the season with a 10-12 record after beating the Atlanta Braves 9-3 on Monday night. The Fan Morning Show talked to MLB on Fox reporter and senior writer for FoxSports.com, Ken Rosenthal on Tuesday morning.
With the schedule that the Bucs faced in April, a 10-12 record is very respectable. The pitching staff has been very good and the bats are starting to make good contact on the ball. If the trend continues, Ken think the Pirates could make a push toward the top of the division. However, he does not believe the Pirates' pitching will be able to sustain their elevated play for the next four months.
Ken recently wrote an article on FoxSports.com about the NL Central and how it will be affected by the rise of the Chicago Cubs. He predicts the Cubs to be a force in 2014, and, because they are the only "big market team," he outlines how the rest of the NL Central will have to act in the next few years to keep up.
